In May 2006, The Bivings Group (TBG) participated in the 2006 Business Philanthropy Summit, organized by Greater DC Cares
and the Washington Business Journal
.
During the summit, The Bivings Group was recognized as an example of a small/medium size business demonstrating outstanding service to the community for its work with Bread for the City
.
For over seven years, TBG has volunteered at Bread for the City’s food pantry, a facility that provides grocery items to welfare clients and hungry families. Responsibilities range from unloading trucks of food donations to preparing bags of food for clients to stocking the pantry with staple items that fulltime staff can access easily.
We feel that what distinguishes us from other organizations is our willingness to roll up our sleeves and work alongside those who need our help instead of just mailing a check.
Bread for the City fosters interaction between staff, volunteers and needy clients. This type of environment allows us to witness the impact of our service first-hand.
Currently, TBG is participating in Bread for the City's "Spring for Food"
drive.
As a result of our partnership with Bread for the City, TBG was provided with the "My Business Cares" seal so that we can proudly identify our company as a socially responsible business.
